The Memoir Project is a joint venture between Mayor Menino’s Elderly Commission and Grub Street, Inc. that aims to teach Boston residents 60 and older the rudiments of memoir writing. By capturing stories of older adults we intend to document the living history of Boston and, by doing so, provide a greater understanding of the city’s past and present for all its residents.

Annual FriendshipWorks Events
Bilingual Senior Health and Resource Fair
Last year on November 15, 2012, the Jamaica Plain Elder Care Network held their first Senior Health and Resource fair. The fair was a great success, and community elders had a chance to come and ask any questions about health insurance, receive flu and pneumonia shots, and get tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Twenty local senior care agencies participated and we are hoping to have more next year!
Need more information about the Jamaica Plain Elder Care Network or interested is having a booth at next year’s event?
