May is Older American’s Month! PLEDGE to celebrate the elders in your life.
FriendshipWorks is joining the Administration on Aging in their push to “Unleash the Power of Age” during the 50th anniversary of Older American’s Month. We encourage all our volunteers, supporters, and older recipients to recognize the people in their communities who’ve made a difference and defy aging.
More details are available on our Facebook Events page: https://www.facebook.com/events/165392540295504/
Join the event to pledge your support and keep up-to-date on the ways FriendshipWorks will be unleashing age in our communities throughout the month of May.
All month long, FriendshipWorks will recognize older adults for their contributions to society with a special letter and certificate from our executive director on behalf of the Boston community. If you wish to nominate an older adult to receive special recognition please email Lauren at lmartin@fw4elders.org

Bilingual Senior Health and Resource Fair
Last year on November 15, 2012, The Jamaica Plain Elder Care Network held their first Senior Health and Resource fair. The fair was a great success, and community elders had a chance to come and ask any questions about health insurance, receive flu and pneumonia shots, and get tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Twenty local senior care agencies participated and we are hoping to have more next year!
